The news has been overrun this past week - what with generals speaking their mind and calling for Donald Rumsfeld's resignation. Perhaps Mr. Rumsfeld should resign; I just don't know.
What I do know is this:It's a bit late for these cowards to speak up. Their responsibility and duty as military officers were to SPEAK UP! If I were the parent of a wounded or killed soldier, I would be furious (as I suppose I am, regardless) of the fact that these men waited to long to speak.

So, do you know for a fact that they only started speaking up recently? Or is it only recently that it has become a well-publicized issue?
For instance, according to "http://www.truthout.org/cgi-bin/artman/ exec/view.cgi/37/11476", once-3-star Gen. Riggs (one of the jabbering generals) was demoted and forced into early retirement last year because of his outspokenness about Rumsfeld's handling of Iraq.
Should I look for more references?

OK Good answer. This is certainly worth researching further. And I will.
The government is remiss on so many counts that it is difficult to keep track. But that is most definitely our job.
Thanks!
