Today is April 19,2006. I want to remember this date, because it's the day that We The People are being slammed in the face and in the pocketbook more than we have ever been slammed. While CEOs retire with $400 million, we are thinking about alternate ways to get to work because we cannot put gas in our cars any more. The outrages committed against American citizens in recent years is taking us to a boiling point, and we remember the response that our Forefathers gave to the King. Suddenly, those responses seem like the only appropriate way for us to handle what is happening to us.
The expectation that we will continually agree to be ignored, while we support our government, and its gargantuan oil interests, is only supported by the fact that we continue to remain silent. As good citizens, we get up every morning, take care of our children, and then off to work so that we can pay the taxes that support those who steal from us.
This government that endoreses the redistribution of wealth in the form of taxes that fund causes and organizations that have nothing to do with the every day, middle class American citizen, should make a new and startling decision.
Let the government redistribute Lee Raymond's wealth. No wait, not all of it. Lee should DONATE $2 million to EVERY STATE. That leaves him $300 million for himself. That should be able to last him for a little while, and he could still enjoy the spectacular tax write-off that that donation would incur. The $2 million for each state would IMMEDIATELY offset the insane and unlawful price gouging that is now being inflicted on the American people.
Meanwhile, we are hearing about Brazil, and its commitment to be oil-free by when?

Why has the United States engaged in such a program? We are screaming about Kyoto - so what? We can do this on our own. The oil cartel in the United States must be stopped, or We The People will be working for no reason whatsoever.
So what can we do right now? Of course, we all know about the VERY IMPORTANT BOYCOTT of Mobil and Exxon.

OK so we don't buy Mobil or EXxon. But we still need the fuel, so we will buy it from someone else. There is only a handful of companies from whom we can buy oil. We need to RELEASE OURSELVES from this hold, and we need to do it NOW.
We MUST select a day where NOBODY buys gas. That's it.
Get on board!

Picking a day won't do a bit of good: you're gonna burn just as much gas that week, so you're gonna need to refill, same as last week, and the week before that, and the week before that. Instead, boycott Mobil/Exxon FOR GOOD. Buy anywhere else. Eventually, they'll have to lower their prices in order to get customers back, at which time all the others will have to lower THEIR prices in order to KEEP the customers that the boycott brought them. It's a vicious circle...for the oil companies, that is. Nothing against capitalism and profit, but there's no need to screw everyone in the country to make money. Thank you for your attention.
