I have always admired the Egyptian culture and its history. My godfather, rest his soul, was an Egyptian. Very dignified and proud. He came to the US and became a chef, and owned several restaurants. I remember him so well!
My godparents would visit Egypt and bring back jewelry for me. I can still remember how I felt - I was awed by how beautiful and how different it was from anything that I saw in stores in this country.
This slight exposure led me to read more and more about Egypt - now and its history. What a magnificent society! Sadly, I am not a traveler. But Egypt is one of the places on Earth that I have always wanted to visit.
What is the point of the bombings that have taken place in the past two days? What is going to be accomplished? I simply do not understand. Why would anyone want to attack any part of that country?
